When you take a photograph apart from the photo there is whole lot of your personal information that gets attached to the photo. The details that are present in the photo are when the photo was taken, where the photo was taken(coordinates(Latitude and Longitude of the place)),how the photo was taken(Camera details and exposure details). In a nutshell lot of sensitive information is stored and care should be taken when you are circulating your photographs to others. It is best to check and remove personal information from pictures.
There are many ways to remove personal information from pictures and easiest way in Windows is to right click on Image file and Click on Properties and Click on Details tab. To do this for multiple images select all the images and right click and Select Properties and click Detail.
Click on Remove Properties and Personal Information
Select the option Remove the following properties from the file and select the properties that you want to be removed. There is Select All Option which is always best to choose to wipe all metadata completely. This approach will remove the metadata from pictures.
If the above approach does not work there are many third party tools to remove personal information from pictures.Mostly the above approach does not work if the personal information contains GPS information and in those situations we can use freeware tools like Metability QuickFix. Download and install the tool/Drag and drop the files to the tool and click Quick Fix Metadata button which will remove all the metadata information from the photo in a single click.
